- This volume is fully bound in leather boards. The front paste-down has 3 labels; on the top left side "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" with underneath and partially covering the bookplate "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". A previous owners bookplate is on the bottom right "From the Library of James M. Osborn". Written in pencil is a sentence which is obscured by the labels on the top left and also "£18" and "65". On the front free end-page and also written in pencil is "By John Hall Stevenson. Sternes 'Eugenius'?" and "£1.30". On the rear paste-down are booksellers marks, written in pencil. On the reverse of the title page is a circular stamp in ink with "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside.
