- This volume is bound in dark tooled leather boards. The paste-down and end-pages are comprised of single sheets of marbled paper, Shell pattern (with pink veins) The front paste-down has 2 labels; On the top left side "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" with underneath "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". In ink on the top reverse of the front free end-page is "hffe" and in pencil on the top of the first blank page is "30L"On the reverse of the title page is a circular stamp in ink with "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside. On the bottom of 156, written in pencil is a previous owners signature "S... James ?", this is very feint and smudged. The catchword is to the bottom right of every page.
