Thanks to Renaisance Yorkshire the trust was able to commission 8 new pen and ink drawings from Martin Rowson for an exhibition in July 2009. Inspired by Hogarth’s A Rake’s Progress, the subject was the life of Parson Yorick (Sterne’s alter ego). Each of Rowson’s drawings made reference to a milestone in the last years of Sterne’s life from 1759 – 1768.
