This volume is bound in blue tooled buckram boards with gilt writing and images, and gilt edges to the text block. The frontispiece is an image of Sterne "Laurence Sterne, from an engraving by E.Fisher after the portrait by Sir Joshua Reynolds, P.R.A". There are 100 illustrations throughout the volume.
Object history
The book was purchased in 1986. Written in ink on the top half of the half-title page is a previous owners signature "R.E. Preston".
