Description
This is the first volume of a set of seven, which contains ‘Some Account of the Life and Writings of Mr. Sterne’, as well as the first three volumes of Tristram Shandy.
The marbled page appears without a page number at the very end of volume 3 (also the end of the book), instead of between pages 270 and 271. It is double-sided and has been created by pasting squares of marbled paper on to the page.
Object history
Donated by Dr David Crocker. Evidence of a previous owner appears on the fly leaf, where 'Wm Bishop.s Book 1782' is inscribed in ink.
