Description
This volume is fully bound in marbled leather over boards. The front and rear paste-downs and end-pages are comprised from one piece of marbled paper (Turkish pattern). The front paste-down has 3 labels; within the centre is a large previous owners bookplate with a heraldic device with underneath "Edward Pery Buckley Esqr". On the top left side "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" is "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". On the reverse of the rear free end-page also written in pencil is "coll KM II2 B-T8U4 marbled leaf between H7+9 2 plates".On the reverse of the title page is a circular stamp in ink with "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside.
