This volume is a "The World's classics", it is fully bound in green buckram over boards. The front paste-down has 2 labels added to the top left hand corner "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" with underneath "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". Written in pencil on the front free end-page is initials which are unclear and "1/1/30" with underneath "1st edt thus - with intro by Virginia Woolf." Printed on the page facing the title page is listed the Oxford University Press details. The title page has a small cut with "The World's Classics". Printed on the reverse of the title page are details about the first publication of A Sentimental Journey. Underneath is an ink stamp "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" in a circle with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside it. On the bottom of page 234 is "Printed in England at the University Press, Oxford by John Johnson, Printer to the University". This volume has a thin red bookmark, between pages 22=23 which is sewn to the textblock binding threads. There are 16 pages of advertisments at the end of the text.
