Description
This volume is bound in marbled boards (Nonpareil pattern, but spikier than other examples?) with a leather spine. The front paste-down has 3 labels on the top left; A small pink label with "W.N.Pitcher & Co. Booksellers, 49, Cross Street, Manchester". With underneath "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" and "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". Written in pencil on the reverse of the front free end page is "olion 62" and written in ink on the first blank page is a previous owners signature "allan Ronee?". On the reverse of the title page, to the first of the 3 volumes, is a circular stamp in ink with "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside. The 9 illustrated cuts, detailed below have tissue paper on top (apart from the fist one).
