Description
This is a hardback with paper covered boards and possibly leather or partial leather covered spine. Both the front and rear end papers are comprised of dark brown paper. The front paste-down has a previous owners bookplate in the centre: above an armorial device is the motto "Fortis in Arduis" (Brave in Difficulties) in capitols, and underneath is "Colin Malcolm Methven". The front free end-page also has a previous owners bookplate in the centre: underneath the armorial device is the motto "Spec Mea in Deo" (God is my Hope) in capitols, with underneath "Grant-Francis". Written in pencil on the reverse of the front free end-page is "£2.5" & "2701" and "Pretender" with "45" to the bottom left & "D" to the right corner. Written in pencil on the top right corner of the title page is "19" and written in pencil on the reverse of the rear free end-page top right "3" & bottom right "sho".
