Previous owner's armorial bookplate for The Duke of Buccleugh with the motto 'ammo'. Beneath this in pencil '(Subscriber's copy)' beaneath which is in pencil 'Printed by Woodfall Senior v. N&Q vol XI pub. Feb-47 pr 2 1/2 gns.'. Crest of Dukal Cornot over a B on both boards to exterior. Beneath which is the bookplate of Kenneth Monkman'. On the title page is a previous owner's name 'Caroline Dalkeith'. List of subscribers to the front of the volume, in the list of subscribers Rev, Mr Sterne. Pages XII - 361, [1]. Page 291 an engraving by Baotard of an ass addressing two youths said to be their master at Eton and suppressed in later editions. Laid in note by KM in melinex.
