Many past residencies have been offered though our partnership with Leeds Beckett University, and many of our residency holders have given lectures as part of the Inside Out lecture series. This programme aims to “bring the best minds of our generation to inspire and support the work students and staff do across the Leeds School of Arts. To this end, we have flown in renowned speakers from around the globe. In order to enhance the cultural life of Leeds, we make the lecture series open to the general public and available to an international audience online.”

We have enjoyed another partnership with the University of Pennsylvania’s Global Research & Internship Program since 2012. GRIP offers “outstanding undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to intern or conduct research with a variety of organizations and companies abroad for 8 to 12 weeks over the summer.” Through this programme we have offered a residency each summer to a student who learns to capture, research and record the moths in Shandy Hall gardens as part of our ongoing study of these important and beautiful creatures.  More about the moth trapping here.
