New Opening Times for 2020

Shandy Hall and Gardens are open from 1 May to 30 September at the following times:

The House is open in the afternoon on Wednesdays and Sundays by guided tour only at 2.45pm and 3.45pm

Also (new for 2020) the House will be opening on Saturday by guided tour only at 2.45pm

Tours can be arranged for groups on other days by appointment.

House and Garden are closed Mondays, except Bank Holidays.

 

House and Garden admission £6

Gardens open 1 May to 30 September (11.00am to 4.30pm), every day except Monday (unless Bank Holiday).

Garden only admission £3

Parking and access

There is limited parking at Shandy Hall. Should no space be available, parking is available in Coxwold. The Hall has limited wheelchair access, but most of the ground floor and all of the garden is accessible by arrangement.

Location

Coxwold, one of Britain’s loveliest villages, is 4 miles off the A19 between York & Thirsk. Near to Kilburn, the White Horse, and 8 miles from Helmsley.

Nearby attractions include Byland Abbey, Newburgh Priory, Rievaulx Abbey

Refreshments

No refreshments are available at Shandy Hall, but visitors may find them in the village at The Fauconberg Arms or the Coxwold tearooms. Byland Abbey Inn is also available, two miles from Coxwold

Dogs

Well-behaved dogs on a short lead are welcome in the garden. Guide dogs may come into the house.
