The Collection | The Marbled Page

The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman.

Tristram Shandy 1-4 bound as two. Volume 1, the third Dublin edition of 1-2 and volume 2 first Dublin edition of 3-4.
The marbled page is unpaginated, double-sided, with visible fold lines. It is inserted at the wrong point, between pages 24 and 25 of volume 4 instead of between pages 134 and 135 of volume 3. A contemporary reader has noticed this and has annotated the marbled page in pencil: 'third volume' [?]. It is difficult to tell whether this is the same reader whose name appears in the first volume.
