This volume is fully bound in tree marbled leather. The front paste-down has 3 labels; Within the centre is a previous owners bookplate with "John Croft"; also on this page, written in pencil is "1st ed. of a new + broader version ap + 6 plates". On the top are "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" and "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". On the reverse of the title page is a circular black stamp with "Laurence Sterne Trust" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" in the centre.
