A Sentimental Journey Through France and Italy by Mr. Yorick. Volume 1.

This volume is fully bound in leather over boards. The front paste-down has 3 labels; "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall", adjacent to this is "Property of the LS Trust, 1986. These partially obscure a large bookplate of "William Grove Esq. LLD", the heraldic device has a dragon perched on a shield with "Laudo Manentem" within a scroll underneath. This previous owner has also signed the volume in ink top left "Wm. Grove". On the bottom left corner in pencil is "C.P." above "H.C.M." On the rear paste-down are some faint notes in pencil on 4 lines, bottom right corner. On the obverse of the title page is an ink stamp "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" in a circle with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside it. Pages V - XX are lists of subscribers.
