The sections of this volume have had a brown paper cover pasted over them, this paper cover folds over the first and last page of the textblock, but otherwise is not attached. The sections are sewn together with thread through 2 holes. Written in pencil on the top of the second page is "BL says 1888. John Oldcastle - by (Wilfred Meynell)". Written in pencil on the reverse of this page is "j/7-" (booksellers remarks?) Printed onto the half title page is the publication information. The Leadenhall Press logo is on the reverse of the half-title page. Printed onto the reverse of the title page is a list of other volumes within the series and a note saying there witll be no further volumes within this series. Facing this page is a note on the Illustrations, with a Publishers Note on its reverse. There are 8 pages of advertisments to the rear of the volume.
