The volume is fully bound with marbled calf boards with the front having an area of marbling in the shape of a X. The end pages are comprised of sheets of marbled paper (Wide Combed Pattern). Pasted onto the centre of the front paste-down is a white label with "July 1993 the Gift of Pippa Corner". Stamped onto the reverse of the title page is the circular stamp with "The Laurence Sterne Trust" with inside "Shandy Hall Library"
