The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman. Volume 9

The volume is fully bound in calf covered boards with gilt edges to the textblock and end-pages comprised of single sheets of dark teal coloured thick paper. On the front paste-down there are 2 labels "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" with underneath "Property of the Laurence Sterne Trust, 1986". Written in pencil on the 2nd flyleaf is "TSL 169. Last line of p 145 not smudged variant Gi not ?variant b". Stamped onto the reverse of the title page is the circular stamp with "The Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" and inside "The Kenneth Monkman Collection".
