The Man of Feeling. A New Edition.

The volume is fully bound in leather (calf) covered boards with the end pages are comprised of single sheets of marbled paper (Turkish Pattern). The front paste-down has 2 labels: pasted onto the top left corner is "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall". Within the centre is a previous owners large bookplate with the motto "Prodesse Quam Conspici" (To accomplish rather than to be) underneath the armourial device and "Thomas Somers Vernon Cocks" underneath. Written in pencil on the reverse of the front free end-page is "A/1" and written in ink on the top of the front 2nd fly is a previous owners signature "J's (?) Morris". Written in the centre of the title page, in pencil by Henry McKenzie 'Controlled of the taxes for Scotland'.
