The Compleat Gentleman Soldier; Or, A Treatise of Military Discipline, Fortifications and Gunnery. In Three Parts.

The volume is fully bound in leather covered boards in the form of Cambridge Calf with alternating plain and marbled panels. The edges to the text-block are mottled red. Pasted onto the centre of the front paste down is a previous owners bookplate with the name "William Gordon Ross, Royal Engineers" underneath the armorial device and the motto "Agnoscar Eventu". Pasted onto the top left corner, and partly over the bookplate, is a small white label with "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall".
