This volume is fully bound in leather over boards. The front paste-down has 4 labels added. The central label is a bookplate belonging to "David Davies", underneath this and rotated so that the text is vertical is a second bookplate belonging to "W.H. Reece, F.S.A", partly written over this label is a previous owners signature in ink "Bela aug 1863" and to the top left hand corner are 2 further labels "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" and underneath this is "Property of the LS Trust, 1986, these labels are above a pencil note "Complete". On the front free end-page is a faint pencil note "25/s" with a further illegible one above. On the reverse of the title page is an ink stamp "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" in a circle with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside it. On the back paste-down is "43" written in pencil top right corner and a bookseller's mark in ink in the centre "1L/l" (?) which has blotted on the adjacent page.
