This volume is fully bound in leather covered boards. The spine has 5 false raised bands comprised of single gilt lines. The title piece is inside the 2nd panel on a dark red leather background in gilt capitols "Sterne" with the volume piece in the 3th panel inside a black oval "2".The board rims are decorated in blind and the head and tailbands are comprised of alternating red and cream threads.
