The Sermons of Mr. Yorick. Volume 6. First Edition.

This volume is fully bound in vellum over boards with 6 stitches in vellum on either side of the spine. Both front and rear past-down and free end-page are comprised of 1 page of marbled paper (Turkish?) which has been sewn onto the binding. The front paste-down has 3 labels a previous owners bookplate is in the centre on pink/salmon paper with a shield device above "L'esperance nous soutient" in capitols above "Richard Campbell Bazett"; and there are 2 labels on the top left side; "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall", underneath this is "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". On the reverse of the front free end-page written in pencil top left is "S5C".On the top of the title page is a previous owners signature written in ink "Anne Harper". On the obverse of the title page is an ink stamp "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" in a circle with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside it. The catchword is to the bottom right of every page. A green silk bookmard is between pages 38=39, where it has stained the paper.
