The Sermons of Mr. Yorick. Volumes 1 and 2. First Dublin Edition.

This volume is fully bound in leather over boards, with the edges of the text block being mottled. The front paste-down has 3 labels a previous owners bookplate is in the centre; a rock with "Firm" in capitols above and "Dalrymple" beneath (the "Ja" has been added in ink at a later date). There are 2 labels on the top left side; "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall", underneath this is "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". On this page are pencil notes "Vol I + II" is partly obscured by a label, "Unknown to Cross who records the first Dublin ed. as 1761". On the front free end-page are also pencil notes on 3 lines "4 vols in 2 Dublin First Edition (1760) £2.2.0". On the obverse of the title page is an ink stamp "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" in a circle with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside it. The catchword is to the bottom right of every page.
