This volume is half bound in leather, with marbled paper covered boards (French Curl on Wide Combed Pattern) and also has vellum tips to the corners. Pasted onto the centre of the front paste-down is a previous owners bookplate depicting a Lion holding a buckle with underneath "Ferguson of Raith". Underneath the rear paste-down there appears to be a second book-plate, which is visible through the paste-down although illegible, also in Volumes 2 & 4 & 5 & 8.
