This volume is fully bound in leather over boards, with the edges of the text block being mottled. The front paste-down has 2 labels on the top left side; "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall", underneath this is "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". On this page are pencil notes "Vol III + IV. Unknown either to Cross or Curtis (C.B.E.L. but NCBEL lists it). Seemingly not in ESTC 90".(English Short Title Catalogue) There is an ink splodge on the top left of the free end-page. On the obverse of the title page is an ink stamp "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" in a circle with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside it. The catchword is to the bottom right of every page.
