Yoricks Grave

41 x 54cm, including frame. Black and white engraved print, framed and glazed with no mount. To the left of the print 'Singleton pinxt.' and to the right 'Nameseche sculpt'. To the left and right of the title are lines of verse. Left ; 'Meek Humourist who's friendly smile, / could soften care and lighten toil, nor nymph, nor swain that wander near / thy flow'r clad Grave, but leaves a tear.' Right; 'Ev'n he who's tender Memory fails, / to trace the loss that Love bewails / Heaves from his infant breast a sigh / of sympathy, he knows not why'. Beneath the title ; London pub. March 25 1792 by T Simpson St Paul's Churchyard and Darling & Thompson Gt Newport Street.
