This volume is fully bound in marbled (tree) leather over boards, and the edges of the text block are mottled. The front paste-down has 3 labels a previous owners bookplate is in the centre; a hand above a lion within a shield with "Coret Magnus Concordant" underneath in capitols and "James Farrell" underneath. (This book plate appears to have been cut before being pasted into this volume. There are 2 labels on the top left side; "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall", underneath this is "Property of the L S Trust, 1986" (which partially covers the bookplate). On the obverse of the title page is an ink stamp "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" in a circle with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside it. The catchword is to the bottom right of every page.
