56.5 x 44cm, including frame. Framed, mounted and glazed handcoloured print. Sept 30th 1790 by S.W. Fores, No. 50 Piccadilly, corner of Sackville St. Folio of Caracatures lent out for the evening. Fold line vertically through the center of the print and some wear to the figures. On the right of the image are the initial 'I.C' [Isaac Cruikshank] 'Eight volunteers or militiamen, each in conversation with a woman on points of arms, equipment, or dress. They are arranged in two rows, the words etched above the head of the speaker.' [See BM.]
