This volume is bound with red/crimson paper over boards, with a leather spine (brown of ox-blood). The edges of the text block are mottled,.The front paste-down has 2 labels, on the top left is "From the Collection of Kenneth Monkman at shandy Hall" with "Property of the Laurence Sterne Trust, 1986" underneath. On the obverse of the title page is an ink stamp "Laurence Sterne Trust" in a circle with "Shandy Hall Library" inside. The frontispiece is opposite the title page and is a full page cut entitled "Assis sur un banc de pierre tenant la bride de son ane", to the top left is "Tom.3", top right "Pag.77", bottom left "Chesselat del." and bottom right "S.A. xxx Sculpt.".
