Letters of the Late Rev. Mr. Laurence Sterne, To his most Intimate Friends. With a Fragment in the Manner of Rabelais. To which are prefix'd, Memoirs of his Life and Family. Written by Himself and published by his Daughter, Mrs. Medalle.

This volume is bound with marbled paper covered boards (Wide Combe Pattern) and a leather spine. The front paste-down has 2 labels; "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" and underneath "Property of the LS Trust, 1986". Written in pencil is "3 vols 12/6". Written in ink on the front free end-page is "3 vols - 9/0" and "W.H. Watson Middle Temple 1818" and in pencil underneath "3 vols 1". Written in ink on the top right of the title page are 2 further previous owners signatures; "Jos. Jefferys" and "Reba. Hole". These appear to be written over other letters.
