Bookplate on front pastedown Sr. John Cope Bart. Coat of arms "AEquo . Adestae. Animo.". Laid in is a TLS article 1957 on the library of John Locke. Fully bound in leather with embossed decoration to front and back board cambridge style, red mottling to top, bottom and foredges of the text block. Front board slightly loose o/w very good. Previous owner's shelf mark to rear flyleaf "e-ii-10". Five raised bands to the spine with title on red leather 'Locke's Works Vol 1'.
