Frontispiece of Laurence Sterne (Reynolds pose) in a decorated roundall with the characters of Uncle Toby (consulting a map) & Poor Maria beneath - photogravure by Maurice Leloir. Half navy blue calf boards half marbled boards with a decorated spine with foliage and flowers including a gilded rose, 3 flowers with red inlays. Top of the spine it damage and seeks urgent restoration. New York 1884 to the foot of the spine. Title piece 'L. Sterne A Sentimental Journey'.
