The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy Gentleman. Volume 2.

This volume is fully bound in leather over boards. The edges of the text block have red mottling. The front paste-down has 4 labels; within the centre is a large previous owners bookplate with a heraldic device with "Regulier et Vigoureux Pacem Amo" in capitols within a banner above. Underneath on 2 lines is "William Scott Kerr of Chatto". On the top left side "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" and underneath this and partially covering the bookplate is "Property of the L S Trust, 1986" On the front free end-page in pencil is "No marbled page - + text cut in attempt to hide the omission. p91 (+ also the omission of the black one)". On the reverse of the title page is a circular stamp in ink with "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside. On the rear paste-down in pencil is "Coll KM"
