Volume 1. Eboracum; Or, The History and Antiquities of the City of York, from its Origin to This Time. Together with an Account of the Ainsty, or, County of the Same, and a Description and History of the Cathedral Church, from its First Foundation to the Present Year. Illustrated with 17 Copper-Plates.

This volume is half bound in calf with marbled paper (Spanish on Turkish Antiqued Pattern?) boards. The end pages are comprised of single sheets of thick grey/green paper. The edges of the text-block are mottled red. Written in ink on the front free end-page is "P129" and also "Lent to the Guild of St. John of Beverley Library for the Deaf (?) By S. Oxley. Aug 2. '27. St. Alfrida". Written in pencil on the reverse of the front free end-page is "2 vols" "25/-" "C/-".
