This volume is bound in boards covered with dark green paper with red leather corners and spine. The front paste-down has 2 labels on the top left side "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" is "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". Written in pencil on the front paste-down is "8 vols" and "Spelman, Sept '83" on the front free end-page is "J.S (C?)." Written in ink on the reverse of the front free end-page is "17 June" (?) but difficult to read. On the reverse of the title page is a circular stamp in ink with "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside. There is marginalia throughout the volume. There is some evidence that there used to be a book-plate or other label now removed on the front paste-down. Between pages 80- 81 is a folded score of Lilli Bellero.
