This volume is fully bound in mottled leather, with a replaced spine. The front paste-down has 3 labels; Within the centre is a large previous owners bookplate with a coat-of-arms with "B. Cole Sculp" above the motto "Contra Patriae Inimicos" which is above "Leake Okeover Esqr." with "No.874" top left. On the top left side "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" with underneath "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". On the reverse of the title page is a circular stamp in ink with "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside. The catchword is to the bottom of every page. Throughout the volume are various publishers devices/flowers including small floral borders around the first capitol in each chapter. One oage advertisment at the back of this edition.
