This volume is fully bound in leather. The front paste-down has 3 labels; Within the centre is a previous owners bookplate with "John Wilkinson" written in ink. On the top left side "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" with underneath "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". Written in ink on the top right of the front free end-page are 2 more previous owners signatures; "Sophia Hume" and "E. Draper" with "Eliza's sig" in pencil underneath. Other writing in pencil has been removed, again likely a signature and a "G" ia still possible to read. On the reverse of the title page is a circular stamp in ink with "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside. Written in ink on the rear paste-down is "e". The catchword is to the bottom of every page.
