A Series of Genuine Letters Between Henry and Frances. The Third Edition. Vol I.

This volume is fully bound in leather over boards. The front paste-down has 2 labels on the top left side "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" and "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". Also on this page written in pencil is "Elizabeth Griffiths", "6 vols (Vol 3 wormed)" and "6 vols worming vol. III". On the front free end-page is a second previous owners signature "J. Dyke". On the reverse of the title page is a circular stamp in ink with "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside. The title page also has a publishers device/flower on it (the same as the one in volume CCWSH:0369b).
