This volume is fully bound in leather over boards with a repaired spine. The front paste-down has 3 labels; within the centre is a previous owners bookplate with "Geo. Drummond" underneath the mottom "Virtutem Coronat Honos". On the top left side "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" with underneath and partly covering the bookplate "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". On the reverse of the title page is a circular stamp in ink with "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside. The catchword is to the bottom right of every page.
