A Political Romance by Laurence Sterne, 1759.

This volume is bound in blue covered boards with a light brown spine comprised of buchram (?). The front paste-down has 3 labels; top centre is a small previous owners bookplate "F.C.J. Allen" with on the top left; "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" with underneath and partially covering the book plate "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". Underneath and written in pencil are comments which have faded. The small device of The Club of Odd Volumes appears on the title page. On the reverse of the title page is a circular stamp in ink with "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside.
