This volume is fully bound in dark green book cloth over boards with a gilt edge to the top of the text block, hardback. The front paste-down has 1 label "From the Library at Shandy Hall" is pasted onto the top left corner. In the centre of the title page is the Taylor & Co. device. On the reverse of the title page is a circular stamp in ink with "Laurence Sterne Trust" with "Shandy Hall Library" inside. At the bottom of the second, plain title page is a representation of the Starling crest.
