This volume is bound in blue/grey paper boards with a grey/brown spine. The front paste-down has 2 labels on the top left side. "From the Collection of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" with "Property of the L S Trust, 1986" underneath. Written in pencil on the front free end-page is "1800 Berwick printing. Contemporary paper wraps, a fine set £85.00". On the title page is a small oval cut with an image of Sterne resting his head upon his left hand", and on the obverse of this page is a circular stamp with "Laurence Sterne Trust" with inside "The Kenneth Monkman Collection". On the reverse of the back free-end page is a pencil landscape sketch of the top half of what seems to be a house.
