This volume is bound in blue buckram boards. The front paste-down has 1 label "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall". The front free end-page has a red oval stamp with "Cambridge English Library", this has been crossed through with pencil and has "Sold to JCT Oates" underneath also written in pencil in Kenneth Monkman's hand is "and by him given to the Shandy Hall Library 24. v.67". Also on this page is the remains if a large label, likely the Cambridge Library loan label. Printed on the obverse of the half title page "Uniform with this Volume The Letters of Richard Steele selected with an Introduction, by R. Brimley Johnson. The Bodley Head". The Cambridge English Library red oval label is also repeated on the title page. Printed on the obverse of the title page is "First published in 1927" and "Made and Printed in Great Britain T. and A. Constable LTD., Printers, Edinburgh". Between these is a circular black stamp with "Laurence sterne Trust" with "Shandy Hall Library" in the centre.
