This volume is bound in marbled boards, Combed pattern with ox-blood leather spine and corners. The paste-down's and end-pages are comprised of single sheets of marbled paper, Nonpareil pattern, and the edges of the text block are also marbled. (not identical to the boards marbled paper). The front paste-down has 3 labels; within the centre is a previous owners bookplate depicting a Lion with the motto "Sempra Fidelis" above Charles, J. Dickins". On the top right are "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" with underneath "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". Printed on the bottom of the reverse of the front free end-page is "Bound by Mudie" On the reverse of the title page is a circular black stamp with "Laurence sterne Trust" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" in the centre. Printed on the bottom of page 226 is "London; Printed By Spottiswoode and Co. New Street Square and Parliament Street"
