This volume is bound in blue buckram covered boards with impressed gilt decoration; the foredge of the text block is gilt. There are 2 labels on the front paste-down; On the top left are "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" with underneath "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". On the reverse of the title page is a circular black stamp with "Laurence Sterne Trust" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" in the centre. On the bottom of page 216 is printed "Colston & Coy, Limited, Printers, Edinburgh"
