This volume is bound in blue buckram covered boards with impressed gilt decoration; the foredge of the text block is gilt.There are 2 labels on the front paste-down; On the top left are "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" with underneath "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". On the reverse of the title page is a circular black stamp with "Laurence Sterne Trust" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" in the centre. Written in purple crayon on the bottom of page 215 is "31 Dec 1902". On the bottom of page 220 is printed "Colston & Coy, Limited, Printers, Edinburgh"
