This volume is bound in green material covered boards, the top edge of the text block is gilded. The front paste-down has printed onto it the Starling coat-of arms with "Ex Libris" Also on this page are 2 labels; On the top are "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" and "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". On the reverse of the title page is a circular black stamp with "Laurence Sterne Trust" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" in the centre.
