This volume is bound in dark green textured buckram. The front paste-down has 2 labels; On the top are "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" and "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". On the front free end-page is a full page pencil sketch of "Laurence Sterne" with "Ex Libris George de Craon (?)" above it and "SM12" in ink top right. Above this is a previous owners signature which could read "Emmeline" in ink, which is repeated on the title page, both are illegible. Within the centre of the title page is an editor's device with "P" in the centre and on the reverse of the title page, and following page, is a circular black stamp with "Laurence Sterne Trust" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" in the centre.
