Written in pencil on the front free end-page is "9 x vols in 2. £16.00 set & original pub. binding not on New CBEL". Written in ink on the top right of the title page is a previous signature "R. Squires". On the obverse of the title page is a circular stamp with "Laurence Sterne Trust" with inside "The Kenneth Monkman Collection".
